Lincoln Red Genetics

The Lincoln Red is a good forage converter and known to be feed efficient, it’s adaptable to different climates and grazing. Its legs are well placed and it has a broad strong muzzle, it has hardy and sturdy feet that rarely require maintenance.

The British Breed has an outstanding ability for rapid weight gain, early maturing, good quality carcass and they also benefit from being hardy, docile, easy calving, have an abundant milk supply and longevity

Lincoln Red Characteristics

The Lincoln Red was originally a dual-purpose breed but due to the quality and popularity of its beef, it was soon considered a beef breed. Although the female’s milk production and maternal calf feeding ability remain high. Established in Lincolnshire by crossing Durham Shorthorns with York in the 18th century, the polled breed were used to improve the local cattle that had originally been imported by Vikings. With Mature males weighing around 950kg and mature females weighing in at around 600kg.
